Let's Talk Movies

I LOVE to Watch movies. I will watch just about any movie out there. I have to say that I usually enjoy the independent films the most. I tend to enjoy the not so mainstream type of movie, but I am open to pretty much anything. So here are a few movies I would recommend:

Hard Candy - This is a bizarre, yet complex movie. It has a very disturbing demeanor to it, yet you are drawn to continue watching. I must say that this movie will have you rooting for both the antagonist as well as protagonist in the film.

Across the Universe - Yes. This is a musical. However, it is brilliantly directed. The movie holds truth to a time period to which I did not experience, but many did. It captured the essence of the tribulations of that particular time. The songs were not too corny or meaningless. The movie had true insight and direction. Don't knock this one off your list just because people sing in it. If you open yourself up to it, you may find you will enjoy it. Think of it as a history lesson rewind. Ladies, it is a true heart aching, & moving film. I cried almost throughout the entire movie. The tears will come from compassion for the Love story, but also the situations of the times. It was truly captivating and I was enamoured throughout the whole film.

Death Sentence - This movie is Intense. That is simply put. A movie that makes you question what you would do in a similar situation. A movie that reaches down into the heart of us all. Family. I seriously cried within the first 3 minutes of the movie. I am not a big Kevin Bacon fan, but he captured the hostility and resentment so truthfully. I was on the edge of my seat with anticipation for his next move.

Wedding Daze - No it is not another "episode" of American Pie. Jason Biggs & Isla Fisher are a true match in this catastrophically funny film. Imagine one day you are at the bookstore, coffee shop or your favorite restaurant. You just whimsically decide to accept some strangers proposal, or flip the switch, you are the one asking. Enough said. The movie really is hilarious.

Movie I would NOT Recommend

The Comebacks - If you are going to continue with the spoof movie phenomenon, please try something different. Take a different alternate path to funny. This movie was ridiculously lacking any bit of sense. It was one of those movies that make you evaluate your intelligence. I will say that some points touched on were funny. However, this was definitely not your laugh out loud, pee your pants, chronic cheese grin, belly aching, hilarious movie.

"Just my opinion. You may agree or disagree, but if you ask me, that is the beauty of individuality."
