The Uninvited

I watched the Uninvited recently. I use to love these horror movies, but as I am getting older they are loosing their charm. This movie has a Lifetime Original Movie feel to it. Emily Browning (a Series of Unfortunate Events) played Anna. A young girl who has been hospitalized in a mental hospital due to the traumatic circumstances of her mother's death. Her therapist advises her to move forward in a positive manner and approves her release from the hospital.

She moves back into her home with her father(David Strahtairn), sister Alex(Arielle Kebbel) ,and fathers new girlfriend Rachael.(Elizabeth Banks) She begins to remember certain flashes from the night of her mother's accident. Her dreams continue; becoming hauntingly vivid. Being home again may be just the therapy Anna needs to begin dealing with her memories of that night. While back home Anna begins to see ghost that she believes are trying to give her messages about what happened to her mother. She becomes obsessed with the fact that her fathers new girlfriend, Rachael, is hiding something from her and her sister, Alex. With each day she is home a new memory is revealed and the truth behind what happened that night of the fire becomes all too clear.

This movie was okay. It wasn't really that intense on the edge of your seat scale. I would give it a 2 on a 1-5 scale.I must say though that it has a definite twist. If I were to rate the endings twist alone I would go for a 4. I thought for sure I had the ending pegged and was very surprised with the endings twist. As with every scary movie I watch, I had to watch a cartoon immediately following to prevent the mind from its induced trickery.
