Over The Weekend................................................

We went to my hometown this weekend to visit our friends RaChel & Joe and Goddaughter Jenika. The trip was long and exhausting but filled with memories of Lions and Tigers and Bears.....Oh My! Not really. More literally...Possums,and Eagles, and trails....So Looong. We visited the Calusa Nature Center, you can view more details on RaChel's Blog - The Ivory Wonder.

The first stop was inside where the information desk was stationed. We received a extremely detailed welcome to the Nature Center and meandered around looking at the Snakes and Mini Pet Sized Alligators:

We then moved along to the outside patio where the touch tank was. I was a little hesitant about touching some things. All bets were on to try to catch one of the fish in the tank:

We moved along toward the butterfly cage where butterflies and moths frolicked and played:

Moving along ... Jenika got a free ride on David's back:

David & Joe stop for a photo with the speed racing turtle:

We say hello to an eagle missing one wing, and stop to admire an albino raccoon:

We walked an walked the very long trail stopping for photos along the way:

A Cartwheel at 25....Much easier during my cheer leading years. I pulled a muscle for the record.

A little sweat doesn't stop this trio from posing for the camera:

We got to get up close and personal with the possum raised at the center from a teeny weeny baby. See him smile for the camera on RaChel's Page under blogs I follow: The Ivory Wonder.
The day came to it's end at the planetarium. Finally air conditioning. We star gazed and gained knowledge of the solar system surrounding Mother Earth.
The day was not to come to an end before stuffing our face with food..... Salad of Course.

..................................................and so the day lives on in history

The remaining of my trip included a late night out, Sisterly drama, movie watching: Bolt - Very Cute & Role Models - Extremely Vulgar, and car disasters prolonging my stay.I missed another day of work, but escaped another Mundane Monday. With every disaster or unfortunate circumstance there is a bright side.
