In life we have many moments that help us to remember. Moments that terrify us, take our breath away, excite us, make us angry, sad, or feel a little out of the loop. We all try so hard to "be Individuals" but even in that, there are those moments when you feel alone. Sometimes this solitary is a good feeling. Other times it makes you feel isolated.
I had one of these moments of pure solitary last night driving home. I was on my way home and there were only 2 other cars beside me. I turn left to get home. I was almost home when I took a look around and realized that I was the only car in sight on the road. I noticed only the changing of the lights as they were changing specifically for me. It was like a movie when the whole city or town has been abandoned and you have been left behind. Only instead of frustration or fear, I felt at peace. It was beautiful.
It was late, probably around 1:30am so it figures no one would be on the road. Nevertheless, it was a very peaceful, and beautiful moment. I felt secure, humbled, and intrigued all at once. Sometimes we get so busy that we forget to stop and appreciate the things that all happen naturally, like the silence of a late nights drive alone on a street.
